Lihua Lin
Software Engineer

Ms. Lin has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Tsinghua University (Beijing, China). She also has a MS in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University (West Lafayette, IN) and a MS in Computer Science from University of California, Santa Barbara (Santa Barbara, CA). A year and a half into pursuing a PhD in computer science, she decided to put school on hold and "join the real world."

In addition to an excellent academic track record, Ms. Lin also worked in China as a software engineer for three years in manufacturing and IT development. Lihua is responsible for the development of SURFCAM product installation and build process as well as other product development projects.

Xiangli (Chris) Han
Senior Software Engineer

Dr. Han has a BS, MS & PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Harbin University of Science and Technology (Heilongjiang, China). He completed his PhD dissertation entitled "Simulation and Verification of NC machining code" when the discipline was still in its infant stages of development.

From 1995 to 1997, he served on the faculty of Tsinghua University. From 1997 to 2001, he served as the Director of the Simulation Division of The National CIMS Engineering Research Center at Tsinghua University. During this time, he directed and developed numerous CAD/CAM projects for the Chinese government.

Later in his career, he conducted research at Worchester Polytechnic Institute (Worchester, MA). His group formulated an innovative manufacturing process known as "Parametric Engineering of Manufacturing System (PEMS)." During this time, he also served as a CAD/CAM expert at Delphi Energy & Chassis (Dayton, OH) to improve production techniques with PEMS.

Apart from his excellent research skills, Dr. Han has strong software architecture and development expertise. In addition, he has authored numerous technical papers on CAD/CAM. At Surfware, Dr. Han is part of the core-machining group and is responsible for various development projects in SURFCAM.

Evan Sherbrooke
Systems Architect

Dr. Sherbrooke has a BS in Mathematics, a MS in Computer Science and a PhD in CAD/CAM Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Cambridge, MA). In 1995, after finishing his PhD dissertation entitled "3-D Shape Interrogation by Medial Axis Transform," he joined New Technologies, Inc. (NTI) as a principal engineer. NTI was a start-up company which was later acquired by Structural Dynamics Research Corporation (SRDC) in 2000.

After that Evan worked at another start-up, Revit, which was acquired by AutoDesk in 2002. At Revit/AutoDesk, he worked on the development of a next-generation parametric building modeler for architectural, engineering, and construction markets.

In 2003, Evan and three colleagues started BME to develop advanced surfacing technology for the industrial and consumer design markets.

Dr. Sherbrooke has published numerous technical papers and is an active referee for several prestigious industry journals. In addition, he served as a National Science Foundation (NSF) fellow from 1992-1995. At Surfware, Evan will serve as a system architect in the core-machining group and will be leading new technology development projects for SURFCAM.
